David Weathers
Coach David Weathers is entering his third season as the Head Coach of the Westside High School Baseball Program. Prior to coming to Westside, Coach Weathers worked as an assistant coach at Broome High School, Chapman High School, Spartanburg High School (Softball) and Daniel High School. He took his first Head Coaching position at Daniel High School in 2017 where he coached until the Spring of 2023. While at Daniel he compiled an overall record of 53 - 70, leading his teams to the playoffs in three seasons, and finished the 2021 season as the #5 ranked team in Class 3A.
In two seasons at the helm of the Westside Baseball Program, Coach Weathers has compiled a 30 - 26 record. The 2024 Rams finished the season with a 12 - 16 record, which included victories over eventual 3A State Champion Powdersville, Top 10 4A ranked Easley and Greenwood and an 8 - 7 record in Region 1 - AAAA. The 2025 Rams finished the regular season with a record of 17 - 9 overall. The team competed in and won the RBI Preseason Invitational Tournament hosted by White Knoll High School, finished in 3rd place in Region 1-AAAA with a 9 - 6 record, defeated Top 5 Ranked 5A teams Dutch Fork and TL Hanna, defeated Wren in the First Round of the SCHSL Playoffs and finished the season as the #7 ranked team in the SCBCA AAAA Baseball Poll.
Coach Weathers is a 2003 graduate of Broome High School where he was a member of the baseball program for four years. He attended USC Upstate where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree with a concentration in Secondary Social Studies. He currently is a World History Teacher in the Freshman Academy at Westside High School.
Coach Weathers and his wife Lesley live in Greer, SC and have two children; a son named Sloan, 6, and a daughter named Kensington, 4.
